Emotion Map of the Periphery

In 2022, the Chamber of City Planners Ankara Branch decided to organize a new series of workshops and an exhibition, as in previous years. Since I was no longer working at the chamber, I joined this project as a participant and decided to organize and facilitate a workshop for the exhibition. This year's theme was chosen collectively as "The Geography of Emotions: Ankara." The workshop I conducted was named "Emotion Map of the Periphery." In this workshop, we explored the peripheries of Ankara—fragmented spaces and ephemeral moments in urbanized parts of the city where communication, even through our senses, seemed impossible. Together with the participants, we pursued and explored our emotions. In these new parts of the city, in public spaces that do not formally exist, we experienced the space by attempting to walk through it. We presented our emotions with a 3D installation in the exhibition hall, as well as with a sound installation and a collage we produced.
